Mini Facelift Procedure
The mini facelift in Scottsdale is a highly personalized procedure. During your initial consultation, Dr. Starkman will carefully examine your face, study your skin type, and discuss your expectations to curate the ideal mini facelift treatment plan for you. Before the procedure, Dr. Starkman will ask you to temporarily avoid certain over-the-counter medications, and to arrange transportation to and from the clinic.
During the mini facelift surgery, Dr. Starkman will administer general IV or local anesthesia to ensure comfort. Once the anesthesia kicks in, Dr. Starkman will make small incisions around the ears and hairline. He will access the underlying tissues to “pull” your skin upwards, remove excess skin tissues, and redistribute fat tissues. After the procedure, Dr. Starkman will carefully suture up the incisions and apply dressings.
What to Expect Following a Mini Facelift
Dr. Starkman will apply dressings over the stitches, and you can return home the same day. You will be advised to stay indoors and avoid strenuous activities throughout recovery. You will also have to return for a pre-scheduled appointment for suture removal. Once the stitches and dressing are removed, you’ll notice some swelling and bruises. These are perfectly normal and will gradually recede. The incision marks will gradually fade into a dull pink, before merging with the rest of your skin.
Patients should avoid physical activities for a few weeks, and avoid making sharp or sudden motions with your face. It may take several weeks for your face to recover completely, but you won’t see the procedure's final results for a few months, during which time your appearance will continue improving. The results of a well-done facelift typically last from 5 to 10 years.
