We have an immediate opening for a Full-time Registered Nurse to join our thriving Plastic Surgery practice. We are looking for a motivated individual who can be available Mondays-Fridays 9am-5pm. Job description
Desert Canyon Surgery Center (DCSC) is a single-specialty state-licensed and accredited ambulatory surgery center in Scottsdale, AZ focused on elective plastic surgery procedures. Providing surgical services to nearly 500 patients annually traveling in from all over the United States, DCSC was designed to improve the quality, stability and efficiency of elective surgical services in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Services provided by more than 20 employed professionals makes makes DCSC one of the largest plastic surgery specialized ambulatory surgery centers in the area.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care as part of a perioperative (operating room) team, assisting the operating surgeon by performing activities such as manipulating tissues with surgical instrumentation (e.g. suturing, wound closure) and other related tasks.
- Provides coordination for the efficient delivery of care in the facial plastic surgery setting.
- Maintain surgical equipment.
- Responsible for providing nursing care for patients in accordance with established policies, operating practices, guidelines and national standards of care to foster a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Uses, protects, and discloses patients protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
- Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrates a commitment to superior customer service.
- Ensures patient confidentiality.
- Refers to/consults with primary surgeon, other health providers to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
- Attends staff meetings and offers suggestions. Listens to others with an open mind.
- Understands the concepts of universal precautions and OSHA.
- Exhibits a professional appearance and dresses in professional clinical attire.
- Performs other tasks as requested by OR manager or physician.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree of Nursing
- Valid compact state or Arizona RN license
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) program
- Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certificate
- Current Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Certification
- Demonstrating a high level of proficiency with superficial skin suturing
- 2 years of experience as a RNFA
- Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
